Traditional Tattoos

At our tattoo studio, we proudly offer traditional tattoos that celebrate the rich history and timeless appeal of classic tattooing. Characterized by bold outlines, strong shading, and vibrant colors, traditional tattoos are designed to stand out and age beautifully over time. Our Artists will create striking pieces that honour the roots of tattoo culture while reflecting your individual style.

About Traditional Tattoos

Traditional tattoos encompass a range of timehonoured tattoo styles rooted in cultural history and artistic tradition. From the bold lines and iconic imagery of American Traditional, to the large-scale storytelling and symbolism of Japanese Traditional. These styles are defined by strong design principles that have stood the test of time. While each tradition has its own unique aesthetic, all traditional tattoos emphasize bold, lasting artwork, rich symbolism, and a deep connection to tattoo heritage.

How it Works

Traditional tattoos are built on a foundation of heavy black outlines and a limited, saturated color palette. Our artists specialize in “Bold Will Hold” designs—imagery that is specifically engineered to look just as crisp in thirty years as it does on day one. We focus on high-contrast compositions that are readable from across a room

While we don’t offer a collection of traditional flash designs, our team of professionals will be able to create that classic piece you’re looking for! Because Traditional tattoos rely on specific iconographylike eagles, daggers, roses, and panthers- we ensure every custom drawing respects the classic proportions and weight of the style.

The application of a Traditional piece involves “packing” the skin with solid pigment. Whether you want a “Black and Grey” traditional look or the classic “Red/Yellow/Green” palette, our artists use specific techniques to ensure the color is flat, solid, and free of gaps, providing that iconic “sticker” look on the skin.

Traditional tattoos often have a slightly heavier “scab” during the first week because of the bold linework. We provide a specialized aftercare routine that focuses on keeping the skin hydrated but breathable. This ensures the heavy black ink heals smoothly without losing its richness or depth.

You will receive comprehensive aftercare guidance at the time of your service to ensure proper healing and long-lasting vibrancy of your new tattoo. View – After Care Guideline. We also offer moisturizers that you can take home with you to ensure you’re treating your new ink in the best way possible to protect your investment.

"Very clean and professional! We went as a walk in on a whim. Super friendly all around! Cedrick was willing to create something unique and meaningful to us. He checked in a few times to make sure we were fine during the process as well as provide extra 2nd skin for aftercare. We will be back!"

"My first experience here was getting my ear repierced. Was so quick and professional. Second experience was a tattoo on my forearm. Alex took my ideas and she did an amazing job executing them in a beautiful piece of art. I'm proud to wear this ink. I love it and will be working with Alex more in the near future because I'm just getting started."

Quick answers to questions you may have

Thick lines are the “skeleton” of the tattoo. As skin ages, ink naturally spreads slightly over decades. By using bold, deliberate lines, we ensure that the design remains recognizable and doesn’t “muddy” together over time. In the world of tattooing, the bolder the line, the better it ages.

While we love tattooing classic flash, we create custom Traditional pieces every day! If you have a specific idea—like a pet portrait or a hobby—we can “Traditionalize” it by applying the same bold outlines and shading techniques that make the style so timeless.

Because Traditional tattoos use larger needle groupings to achieve those iconic bold lines and solid color, the sensation is a bit more “solid” than the “scratchy” feeling of fineline work. However, because the style is so efficient, the artist can often complete the tattoo much faster than a realism or fine-detail piece!

The “standard” Traditional palette includes black, red, gold, and green. This specific combination is used because these pigments are the most light-fast and durable in the skin. However, we can also execute Traditional designs in “Blackwork” (all black) or “CMYK” palettes depending on your personal preference.
